Universidade Federal de Goiás, Florida International University and Goiânia’s Municipal City Hall became partners for three years in oder to better the energy consumption in public municipality buildings.
The municipalities were chosen based on their population size, the high levels of energy use and their will to facilitate and put in effect changes to better efficient energy use.
This research project will take place in the following cities: Goiania, Brazil, Valdivia/Los Rios in Chile, and Port of Spain in Trinidad and Tobago.
Conduct a political analysis of
energy efficiency and evaluate
the initial use of energy for the chosen
buildings for each city
Develop recommendations for the standards
of energy efficiency that were improved
and codes for municipal buildings
according to the analysis results
Create a plan of action to be recommended
for the government partners
and interested parties looking to
implement such codes and regulations
Monitor and evaluate
the analysis results which
will serve as reference
for future interventions
